Job description

Allendale Veterinary Hospital is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team and help drive our core values of providing excellent medical care in a positive and collaborative work environment. What We Need:

  • 1-2 years of veterinary technician experience, including surgical experience
  • CVT/LVT/RVT preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills (including spelling and grammar) –  strong and respectful written and verbal communication skills with both clients and staff
  • Adaptable – remain flexible while maintaining a positive attitude
  • Highly organized with acute attention to detail
  • Good time management and efficiency with ability to prioritize
  • Reliable – good judgment with ability to work and learn     independently, responsibly, and ethically
  • Resourceful problem-solving skills with active recall
  • Dedicated to providing excellent service for every client and     patient
  • Open to feedback, coaching, and continuous learning
  • A passion for and commitment to the welfare of animal

As a member of the clinical team, in addition to traditional vet tech duties, you will be actively involved in:

  • Client education and communication
  • Detailed electronic medical record (EMR) documentation
  • Diagnostics
  • Reviewing medical records and lab work
  • Calculating doses for both oral and injectible medications

It is important that you have the necessary tools and resources to provide the best care to our patients. Our hospital has the following:

  • Digital x-ray
  • In-house ultrasound machine
  • In-house lab machines (CBC, Chem), Antech for reference lab
  • Full surgery suite with full monitoring equipment (SpO2, EtCo2, doppler BP etc.)
  • Dental services with digital x-ray, ultrasonic scaling, high-speed equipment
  • Fully integrated electronic medical records (EzyVet)
